How it all began
Back in June of 2021 I started watching YouTube videos especially fishing challenges like Fishing with Norm or Fishing with YakPak. Then I started getting more and more interested into fishing which that turned into fishing local ponds almost everyday with my old time friend Jake. But pond fishing wasn't enough... I went to my cousins party which is a local tournament competitor. His long term friend was there which is known as Dickie. We were all sitting down at the table eating crabs and having a good time in which fishing was brought up. I didn't really know Dickie that well because I was never introduced to him. He told me what he does like tournaments and
Fishing the Susquehanna River ETC... He offered to take me to a somewhat local smallmouth fishery, The Susquehanna River. Now mind you this is the first time ever meeting Dickie. Once he offered to take me fishing the next morning I had to bribe his wife to let him go to take me fishing. Now at first when he told me that he fishes I thought he was just some old time fisherman that uses outdated techniques. I thought that until he made his first cast while he was on the phone with someone on the bow of the jet boat and caught a 3 pound smallmouth. And I was thinking "wow this dudes really good." So then the day went on and it wasn't the best fishing that day but we still managed to catch some quality fish. I think we caught about 12 quality smallmouth that day. After we got off of the water he called my Uncle Lauren up (also known as my Dad's cousin) and was telling him how I did. After the phone call we was back in my hometown where we met my dad at AC&T and he introduced me and my Dad to the MLF (Major League Fishing.) He was telling us how there's tournaments all around and you can get college scholarships for bass fishing. After we looked into the MLF I really became obsessed with the sport of bass fishing. So then Dickie took me fishing a couple other times locally on the Upper Potomac River and which he would crush me because I didn't have most of the baits I needed. After he took me fishing a few times he told me about Potomac Teams tournaments out of Leesylvania State park on the Lower Potomac River. As we did more and more tournaments together we became closer and closer friends. Dickie mentored me from the ground up. And If it weren't for Dickie I wouldn't be where I am today, and that's how it all started.
